Having found a reset button on the adaptor has helped. It sometimes it takes a bit reseting and retrying to get it to start like at the moment, to the extent that I'm wondering if there is an intermitent hardware temperature related problem with the MS display adaptor. Once it starts it is good, all be it with a slight flicker/jerkiness when showing video on the TV. I can now get a projection but it is a bit of and on about when it wants to work.

The Intel update checking application didn't pick this one up, I found it when checking the drivers in device manager. Have found an update to the Intel(r) HD Graphics 5500 driver. The MS display adaptor was not tried on win 8.1. Is there a fix for this or do I have to wait while MS, Intel, HP sort it out? All the display durring the update was on the notebook not the TV.Ĭan do all the right things on the TV with a HDMI cable. The adaptor did accept an update to it via the WiDi which ran ok. So i'm ether not sending the correct data to the MS display adaptor or the adaptor is not translating it correctly. The TV is getting some sort of signal from the WiDi but its not a "screen'' as with no signal the TV is blue.
